Steven Cooper: Visual & Technical Artist
About me:
I'm a jack-of-all trades artist with a passion for creativity in the artistic and technical realms.
I graduated from The Art Institute of California - Orange County in June of '09 with a Bachelors of
Science Degree in Media Arts and Animation. I've always been a visual artist from the moment I was
able to pick up a pen; as long as I'm creating something, I'm happy.
My personal goal is to work in the Animation and Film industry and eventually educate others who are
interested in the field. I'm a multi-faceted individual and I place a lot of importance on being experienced
in a wide variety of skills. I feel that I can be more of an asset by being able to do many different jobs well
and bringing variation and freshness to a team. I love to be on the technical side as well as the creative side;
tasks like stream lining efficiency and creating workflow paradigms can be just as fun as painting brilliant
concept art or modeling a character. I greatly enjoy working with many different art forms and I am a firm believer
that inspiration and enthusiasm are powerful tools for any production.
I have a lot of experience working with Autodesk Maya and other 3D programs. My strengths include:
Lighting, Texturing, Materials, Scene Organization, Render Management, Compositing & Editing. I also
Have a good amount of experince in the following: Modeling, Rigging, Animation & Basic Dynamics.
Outside of the 3D Realm I have extensive experience using Adobe Photoshop for various tasks, including:
Image Manipulation, Photo-Retouching, Image Compositing, Color Adjustments, 2D/3D Compositing, Basic Painting,
Print Preperation, Aspect Ratio conversion & Matte Painting. I've been using Adobe Photoshop for 6 years and
it's one of the programs I feel most comfortable in.
I also have experience using video editing programs such as Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premier. I've done
Video Eding, Motion Graphics and some animation in Flash as well.
